Why do soldiers get more respect than cops?

Well for one thing, we're overworked and underpaid. at least cops get paid more to sometimes not even do shyt but sit in their car somewhere and write tickets. They're not even required to workout apparently judgin by how many fat ones there are, and they go around fukkin with civilians. we dont really do that.. and we get shipped around the world at any given time and have no say in this, cops stay in their hometown, cozy with their families and friends. And trust me, its the little things, the bs that comes with bein in the military, bein ordered around to do bs and gettin all our time wasted.. and a cop can quit anytime he wants, we cant. these are just a few points

The way I see it they perform the same service, just the military does it outside our country.

Cops are allowed to get fat while they are still in the force. Soldiers have physical fitness requirements to meet every six months unless they have some sort of injury for which a doctor put them on "profile".

no disrespect to anybody but most cops i know are college dropouts that really shouldn't even be allowed to have a gun let alone enforcing laws

maybe the old timers, most big/major police departments want you to either have an associates or a bachelor, especially a lot of the departments in the Dallas area


im a paramedic and deal with cops all the time and friends with a lot of them most have an education except for some of the old timers. I would say where im at about 20 percent of the cops are a-holes the rest are cool

meh, not always, there's a lot of reasons why someone becomes a cop. i know of several cops who were gang members and wanted to assimilate into that system. i also hear a lot about ex hs/college athletes going into law enforcement when their careers end.

either way, it's almost always someone who wants to assert dominance over your common man.

also a lot of military become police officers once they get out the military, cant speak on the gang thing because if thats the case then the background investigators are doing a terrible job, plus I havent seen too many gang members who arent tatted up which is frowned up by most police officers

maybe its different where im at, because majority of the cops are hispanic and the city is mostly hispanic but the only place I see people speak so badly for cops are on the coli and in the projects but shyt those people are trash themselves

Here are some reasons y since i was in the ARMY

One thing that happens that no other profession does is this

When we get in trouble They take can take half our paycheck and on top of that demote us and make us do EXTRA DUTY which is where they can have u cutting grass or picking weeds in the middle of the night or even just do a road march as punishment for acting up. some just make shyt up to keep u out there and it be some of the most DUMBEST shyt they make u do


We work some of the lONGEST HOURS U WILL EVER KNOW. to only get up again early in the morning to do PT cuz its MANDATORY for the most part

We are always away from our FAMILY weeks, months at a time for different reasons. Granted war is one of em but its not the ONLY REASON.

it could be for training to learn a new job, or to replace a soldier who is gonna be out for a while, or to help a small country in need of medical or dental care ETC.....

shytTING on the wrong person in the military can and has been A CAREER KILLER cuz it follows u around EVERYWHERE FOR THE REST OF UR CAREER.
