Why do people who don't believe in religion automatically get labeled Atheist?

I can believe there are "religions" out there without any type of "god" or "higher power" incorporated into their belief system. So yeah, I guess I can see how you can be a religious atheist.

There are religions that support atheism, Hinduism and Buddhism are first in mind, I'm sure there are others. My point was although they don't believe in god(s) they can still be labeled, especially since they're the minority.
