First album is a classic, second one was good, after that his music has been trash outside of a single or two.

Exactly how I feel...But I'd say after the second album the rest have been ok with a good single or two. But this is why hes seen as good because of how his career started off. I'm assuming most brehs in this thread were too young when he was dropping consistent good music.

His first album is severely overrated IMO. Never got the hype behind it. I am skeptical of people who love to tout it as some masterpiece. Once Again is a cold ass album tho

I'm not particularly a fan of Drake or Young Thug, but I hear people talking about them, getting excited about their projects

i've NEVER seen this with john legend....ever.

in fact, i've actually seen more hype surrounding Brandy and Fantasia projects when they drop than JL's and they aren't anywhere near as popular as him

Short story. Ledisi and John Legend did a song together on the movie Selma which was a rendition of Mahalia Jackson's "Take My Hand, Precious Lord". Now instead of Ledisi and John Legend performing that onstage, Beyonce stole the performance from Ledisi. John Legend knew and even performed the song with Beyonce at the Grammys. Unfortunately, Ledisi found out at the Grammys in her seat with everyone else. So Beyonce and John Legend stole from Ledisi, stole her shine (and chance to be seen on a national stage), and embarrassed the shyt out of her on national tv. John Legend didn't even have the balls to tell Ledisi ahead of time or even fight for Ledisi to be onstage with Beyonce.

Kanye the man who fought for her more than her own husband told us the truth that she leverages her celeb into more money,more awards, and more everything even more than the record labels do behind the scenes Beyonce been trying to be seen as woke so of course she would do that John has no power
