It's a local thing. I don't enjoy it but why put it down? It has a strong tie to the culture and history of AA in the city. And it's generally positive. A lot better than the musical "art" coming out of other cities.

You’re not gonna understand it since you’re an out of towner. Local black people everywhere suppose to have they own sounds when it comes to music.
I'm not from the south but I enjoy Zydeco music.... :blessed:

I hated it when I first moved here in the late 90s.

But as I grew and matured and saw how it was the lifeblood of a city/region and understood what it meant. I actually listened and it somehow started to sound great. You gotta check some legends out like Backyard, Rare Essence, Junkyard, etc

Plus, it’s something you have to experience! I went to a house party in my senior year of HS, and BOY! The way the girls get down to go go smh…to me, it was like beer. You have to acquire the “taste” but once you do, it’s magical. But it’s not for everybody. That’s the cool thing about this area, they have their own sound, style, mentality that’s unique to them and they honestly don’t care who rock with it

I always advise brothers, stop eating out, use that money and buy rice, peas, beans, pasta, lentils, vegetables and prepare your own meal
