I don't know where all the confusion came from but in my life the three BASIC complexions for Black people were dark-skin, brown-skin, and light-skin

of course there are a million different complexions with Black people, but it always gets complicated when you're trying to be specific as possible when describing a Black person's skin color

She has two famous black parents. Lenny Kravitz a rock musician who’s mother was on the Jeffersons and Lisa Bonet who was Denise from the Cosby Show / Different World.

Please tell you’re trolling.
Lisa Bonet isn’t black or Negroe to be precise. She’s a mix breed. Pls tell me you’re trolling. Surely your esteem would be high enough not to call a mixed person negro. Would a white person call a mix person white with wooly hair? Would the japanese do it? Would the Chinese?

I mean...when there are basically three words (dark, brown, light) to describe a WIDE range of skin tones, not everyone is going to agree.
I’m dark brown like Nia maybe a half shade darker but I always get called dark.

You must be Ugandan or Sudanese or something … I’m clearly not speaking with a Western Black person …

Western, just not brainwashed. Yall stay letting anybody in the cookout/fold, that’s why we always last and stay getting played. She cool peoples, but she aint black. I forgot, this be yall excuse to get white, latina, and “foreign” women. A tale as old as time, which got us enslaved in the first place. Maybe we need to be like Ugandans. They seem to understand bloodlines, lineage, and inheritance. Smh our ppl are so smh worthy.

I noticed that too and said it on here before

it's like as time passed they erased brown-skin Black people and lump them in with either being dark-skin or light-skin

I don't know when this took place in our community but it's fairly recent
