I hadnt been there since the mid 90's, but its still a great park.

The seats being uncomfortable was way overblown. Unless youre 240 pounds its fine. I sat in the bleachers, site lines were fine. Could see everything

Red Sox stink this year but the atmosphere was pretty damn good. Place was packed, bars were fun.

Extremely baseball centric...no gimmicks. Just baseball....

Because they fooled you. It's not just baseball, and the only reason why they haven't gone ahead and made their own Disneyland ballpark themselves is because the ghetto scares them and there's nowhere else for them to build.

They have really nice seats, but other seats are really crummy. It depends on where you are. As far as amenities, it's really old, it's all lined up in one particular spot except for the new amenities they have near the Monster (the monster seats live up to the hype) Where you sat is one of the better spots to be at. That area is live. They don't overly police the fans there, and you see it all. If you go to the other side where all the beams are, you'd be singing a different tune. There's a spot there where there's a beam directly in front of a seat and every seat behind it. I sat there for a bit earlier in the day, and I feel bad for the guy who pays for that seat unknowingly.

What makes it as commercialized is that they make you pay so much so you can feel like you're in an antique shop. Unless you're a tightwad, the Red Sox find their ways to get your money, whether it be shirts, shytty ass food, urine flavored beer.

The bars around it are cool. I fukks with Boston Beerworks myself and not necessarily the spot across the street, but that whole row of spots behind Fenway is a club spot and hangout for college kids like myself when I was there.

Not sure if I would call it a gimmick, but that wall ain't cool man. Pop up home runs, routine fly ball in other park home runs, the wall turning line drive shots into singles:sadcam:

I've never been to Fenway but I rather watch a Baseball game at Shea and Old Yankee stadium over Citi and New Yankee stadium anyday of the week. At least I knew I was at a Baseball game and not the circus. And as for food and all that other bull shyt, if I wanted a good meal I would have went out to dinner.

Meh. Thought the park was fine. Everywhere is expensive so I went in expecting that.

Plus there no reason for them to build a new park they sell out every game

I went to Fenway on Saturday :win:
It's cool and all, the food is mediocre, but the park and atmosphere is great.
The seats are cramped if you're 6'1 are taller. Yawkey Way is a nice little area, definetely overpriced, but hey Fenway is practically a landmark :manny:

They've been renovating that park every year seemingly for the last 10 years putting in a little bit of new stuff every winter. They're not doing that because they want to. In a perfect world, they'd just build a new ballpark in that area with all the bells and whistles instead of having this drawn out renovation to make Fenway look less shytty (that's the only advantage the Yankees had, that they had a crummy field across the street to build on. The Red Sox don't have something like that not owned by Boston U or Northeastern) It's not even about the sellouts. They know they have that, especially in that location, but if you went there, you'd see that the squat of land that Fenway Park has is all it has. They can't go anywhere else in that immediate area for geographic and ownership purposes.

Red Sox Nation and the minds behind it are some blood sucking vultures. The only difference between their fans and the suits is that they wear Polos and have at least somebody in their crew that's a die hard fan. Sweet Caroline is about as gimmicky as it gets. There are people that go there ONLY to hear that.

I hear what youre saying. the suits are suits...Yankees, red Sox neither give a shyt about the fans and they'll suck you dry at every chance they get.

I realize they cant build anywhere else.

The atmosphere and the hallways just reminded me of the Old Yankee Stadium...which was a good thing. Not the supped up amusement park we have now.

Never been to Fenway, but I can confirm that Wrigley is a dump.

Troughs to piss in, the outfield is all bleacher seats and has the feel of a grungy, sweaty bar.

Tradition is cool and all, but the Cubs need a new stadium.

Even Peter Gammons thinks that stadium is trash.

A few Floors Down from the Daily Grind
Tremont is hating. The bandstand of Fenway is a fantastic user experience.

Now, having grown up before the monster seats and all the new amenities, I appreciate all they've done with the place, and your so damn close to the field it rules.

Pink hats did dull it down a tad in the past 4 years, but from 98-07?? Atmosphere could not be beat.

And only noobs buy the obstructed view seats.

It's all it is though. It just looks old whereas Yankee Stadium looks new. One looks like Six Flags. The other looks like the Cyclone at Coney Island.

There's shyt about Fenway that I absolutely love. Monster seats are some of the best seats in baseball. Glad I got to sit there for a night. Fans other than the fact that they were Red Sox fans were cool too. Location is cool too, though I miss the Store24 they had on Comm Ave. Got me through so many cold all-nighters.

Some of those seats a little farther back suck so much. They just do.
