Dude made a whole video about what he feels should be the right color grading for a superhero movie.:russ:

For the record, I'm not a super big fan of digital color grading, especially because a lot of filmmakers OD on it. Good example, last week's Kong: Skull Island trailer.

This movie looks so orange and green that every white person in it looks like they got spray tan on.

I wouldn't say ugly, but very dull and uninspired.

I really enjoy the MCU but one thing they never really took the time to care about was memorable music or a signature visual style. It's one reason I can see why some say the movies just don't stick out to them....music and colors can go a long way towards creating a long-lasting attachment to the films, not just the temporary enjoyment they might get at the theater that fades as soon as they leave.

That said, I hate the color grading of a lot of films nowadays. The blueish orangish greenish tints to certain movies annoy the fukk out of me. So at worst, the color grading of the MCU is inoffensive. It doesn't bother me, it's not distracting, but I would agree that it's not exciting either.

I agree about the music. It's pretty ridiculous how there hasn't really been one memorable theme in the entire MCU.

I think the Avengers theme was memorable.

around the 1:03-1:50 mark:ahh:

That sticks out to me and always reminds me of the first time they assemble. The problem is they don't spam that theme enough with good variants to make it stick. I'm not sure if they even used it in Age of Ultron or Civil War.

That's still very very forgettable and bland. just sounds like a generic soundtrack.

There's always been something just off about Marvel films to me and he nails it. Though I'm not sure I agree that his "improvement" looks any better. I get what he's going with though.
