As a light/brown skinned dude I've noticed the flipside. I'm constantly getting attention from dark skinned girls while I mostly get curved by light skinned girls. And I've seen the overcompensating thing plenty of times. My homegirl is lightskinned and "woke" and she's told me several times that she wishes she was darker lol
