Why do I still watch Ancient Aliens

simple story...

i go over on a sunday and have brunch, it seems like there is a marathon of ancient aliens going on. i am basically trying to contain my disgust for the nonsense being peddled, i end up saying:

" you really watch this?"

and she says

yeah

and then later during a commercial break she says

so what did you think about what they said?

and i basically say

this is straight trash on every level. these dudes are not authorities, the "theories" they propose are crazy, history channel should be ashamed of itself, etc.

and she says

well some people watch football, i watch this, if you dont like it you can go in the other room and watch something else

and im like

im just eating brunch, if you didnt ask me, i wouldnt have said anymore on the subject, mother

and then she goes

well, im sorry i asked

how they incorporate the "ancient alien" theory to literally any topic is laughable

but to say you cant/wont learn anything from the show is also laughable.

they do a great job introducing different cultures/religion/theology to people who are more than likely ignorant about such subjects
