I'd go back in a second if you could find me that factory job paying 200k+ a year.

I'm not doing software engineering for that 20 /hr chump change either :mjlol:
Manual labor is definitely easier than mental labor. Being a PT burned me out way faster than working at UPS ever did. If UPS paid me what I'm being paid now in physical therapy, I'd still be working there.

When I criticize Boomers, I'm only talking about Cacs. Many Black Boomers were the first ones in their families to go to college, be educated in integrated classes, work alongside cacs and navigate their workplace politics. They made mistakes, but I can't blame them. They were sold lies by everyone around them.

Cac Boomers on the other hand have ruined this country.

I've worked in a factory, I've wfh as a knowledge based worked. Physical labor is 1000xs easier than mental labor. It's not even close. Anything physical is easier than mental.
I wouldn't say its easier. i can probably work as an accountant well into my 70s if i wanted. Whereas i doubt i could do physical labor that late in life.

But labor is far less stressful, once you clock out and leave the workplace, you are free of any work related anxiety or pressure.

No 24 hour workathons trying to reach a deadline. nobody calling you in the middle of night with questions or an impromptu meeting. No concerns about meeting forecasted profit margins etc etc. just go to work, put in your 8 hours and you done. but mental work can be dark cloud hovering over you 24/7.

Plus if i decide i don't wanna work their anymore i have consider the implications of quitting, will i be able to find another job with the same benefits, are the systems in the next job going to be similar enough were i would know what im doing? i might get black balled out the industry altogether if I'm in high visibility company as a high level exec and i burn that bridge.

labor i can quict without notice and find a new labor position within a week.

IJS I've rarely heard people who've done both say the mental work was easier. When you have those days you don't want to work, it's easier to push yourself physically and just go through the motions if your body isn't injured. When you have those days you don't want to work and still have to solve problems tho and gotta mentally sort all that out :why:

Exactly! I worked one summer in college in a plant that made transformers that hang from poles. Them mothafukkas had us working in Mississippi in 105 to 110 degree weather inside (the metal heating cores had to be heated in ovens) for 12 to 16 hours a day for fukking $10 an hour.

Jokers would be passing out at work and some times you would be so tired from the heat and work that when you got off you would go to the parking lot and pass out asleep in your car.

Man that shyt made me hurry up and graduate college....man ain't no way working behind the desk now as a professional is as mentally and physically tasking as that work in that plant (or other jobs I had in college, like working at a chicken plant). I wouldn't want that shyt on my worse enemy.

Nah, Gen Z got it easier overall when it comes to working/employment.

shyt, they make up positions right now just so they can get their foot in the door.

Then all the ways you can cheat to get your degrees with tech now.

Other aspects though, I'll definitely say they have it tough.
