In what world is working on a farm or factory easier than working at home in your pajamas. Am I missing something

Every generation in America has it easier than the ones before. Young ppl now are just lazy as hell

Probably speaking on the fact that a college degree in their times was no more than 10k and an avg home was 47k in the 80s.

Aaaand you've clearly never been a professional software engineer/data scientist/actuary/any career that requires you to spend your day solving abstract poorly defined problems in a two week time limit for a living. And let's not forget you always have to stay current and relevant in your skillset and job interviews involve months of preparation where you spend 4 hours being grilled on solving abstract problems that would probably take you a month to figure out in 50 mins.

and it was probably paid off in 5 yrs.

Post war boom was a once in a lifetime event. America was untouched physically excpet for Pearl Harbor while other countries were in ruins. Just having your factories intact was a huge advantage.

No cheap imported labor to water wages down and no mass imports to compete with domestic brands.
