true but gotta take into account that in recent years, Vince hasn't been striking while the iron was hot with celebrities. How many of the Raw guest hosts were popular or doing anything majorly relevant when they hosted.

this is also another reason, its let me go on Raw pitch whatever show or movie im in and dip.
They try and be SNL too much sometimes with putting celebrity in comedy segment and we all no WWE comedy is straight :trash:99% of the time. Or they put these celebrity in these forced back and forth segment with either faces or heels and it does nothing really to help the talent and sometimes makes them looks like fools.

Plus when they have the celebrity plug whatever there plugging it always comes across as forced it's never feels like it flows with the show it just comes out of nowhere and it feel like a bad late night talking segment

So I've been lurking other wrestling forums for about 11 years now and one thing I've always noticed is that smark forums have this huge apprehension against celebrities, especially black celebs.

It really doesn't make sense to me because if they were truly up on their history they'd know that Mr. T and Mike Tyson are damn near the reason WWE exists today and that Mayweather gave WWE it's highest buyrate of all time.

Even with white celebs they to shyt on them which makes even less sense to me. Can't they see that mainstream attention helps wrestling grow. If even 1% of the people watching the Ball family clips starts watching wrestling, it puts the industry into a better situation.

I see threads on other forums where they complain about wrestling not being as popular but then when a segment like last night happens, they claim it was as bad as "This Is Your Life"

TSC brehs can you enlighten me on why certain smarks hate celebes?

Isn't "This Is Your Life" the highest rated Raw of all time?

They take wrestling too damn seriously and try to adapt wrestlers' mentality of not accepting outsiders, not realizing that they are not as "in" as they think they are.

I like when they have proper wrestling fans who actually do something, like Tyson and Amell. It's annoying when they just get random celebs in to promote something shytty.

Like they have some random guy I've never heard on comms last night, why cause he's in Transformers? So? Transformers isn't going to make anymore money, Raw isn't going to get better ratings, shyt's just pointless, out of place and cringey as fukk.

That segment with Nikki Bella posted above, I mean what the fukk was that? Who the fukk was that? :snoop:

I liked Stephen Amell because not only am I a huge Arrow stan, guy trains like a beast, does his own stunts and is actually a huge wrestling fan, guy marks out like a little kid when Austin came out at WM32 :bryan:

They only really care when you can tell the celebrity is just there to promote whatever project they got coming out :manny:

And I don't disagree with that because 9/10 the segments are trash. But to be fair I thought this one with Lavar was dope af and genuinely entertaining. Maybe I'd feel different if WWE itself was entertaining but they aren't so :hubie:

A lot of marks are idiots.

Celebrities can really elevate a wrestling brand's prestige.

Mike Tyson, mayweather, lavar, Dennis rodman are all dope celebrities.

K-fed was aight.

Even Seth green was tolerable.

No different from gamers bytching about celebs being at E3. Most members of a certain community complain about shyt that's not of the norm. Wrestling fans want the shyt to be like the good ole days but fail to see that promotions strive on celebs to become relevant in the market and not be full carny. WWE had the Rock and Wrestling connection, WCW had Robocop:mjlol:, and even the AWA had some unknown grappler to fit the companies mold.

Bottom line, smarks are going to smark and wrestling promotions are going to continue to seek celebs to somehow be in the mainstream.
