White shows have a "catch" too, but there's so many of them you probably don't even notice. For example, "Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother" is damn near the same show, just with a different spin.

If there is only 2-3 black shows on TV, you're gonna notice if they all have a common thread.
