Same reason why people change styles of dress and everything else. We live in a culture where people stand in front of a mirror every day and practice beingn somebody else.

I know what dude means. It's just the way people sounded and spoke in general back in the day was different.

It's not even about the slang because that changes all the time. You listen to stuff like this:



And dudes on the streets of Harlem today obviously sound nothing like that at all.

It's not just black folk it's everybody all over the globe.
