Why do special operators (SEALs, Rangers, SF, PJs, etc) get married? They have a divorce rate close to 90% and she will be getting a piece of those benefits/retirement.

Most people (even the unstable ones) like the idea of someone to come home to and consistent companionship.

For athletes it must be tough, always on the road etc.

I remember when Sean Payton was suspended for a year that's when he had a divt

You can be loved, have an intact family unit, and have someone to come home to without signing that Marriage contract

Respectfully, how can the gentleman have an "intact family unit" without being married?

I understand how this can literally be possible, yes...

But what I'm getting at more is the sentiment I have constantly seen espoused on here about a lady needing to be married before she carries; that is a the moral way of arriving at the family unit, and it allegedly indicates her quality as a woman because she didn't allow someone to impregnate her without a commitment first.

If that is the standard and precedent we are setting, then how does the athlete get this loving home with children who are not being born out of wedlock from a woman who'll be deemed as a "baby mama"? Would this require the woman to consent to this type of arrangement, or did you have another setup in mind?

Unless you mean the family he is coming home to comprises his parents and siblings because they all share a home, at which point I can see your point.

There are still solid foundations like Grant Hill and Tamia out here

Too many nikkas are caught up on the worse of worse dumb ass athletes and they had decision making with hoes not women

Marriage certificate or not if you live with someone for many years and have kids with them you will still pay.

Why work hard all your life, make millions and buy everything only to impress/trick on people who don't care about you?

fukk around and be the millionaire who forces his staff to spend Christmas with them coz your money and wealth won't thank n hug you.

You know Common Law marriage is legal in 17 states right?

So it literally can be "morally" possible in the eyes of the law as well. If women were just more honest and just straight up say, "I want financial security in a divorce settlement in case this shyt goes left" more Men would actually respect that and make better decisions with this dilemma. Don't know why it's so hard for women to admit that

This fluff in this post, and the absolute commitment for Women to gaslight Men on this issue is the perfect example of why Men should NOT be signing that contract

When a man and woman cohabitate the children do not care about a legal certificate. The resources of a professional athlete will have just about 100% of women's morality about wedlock births going out of the window.

(Sigh)

As long as I've been on this site, I rarely post... I mostly sit back and observe... If I hit "reply" to make a post, it is because I'm genuinely curious about something that has been said, or either something has been said which I do not entirely understand...

I have no desire nor energy to gaslight anyone on here...for the intention of what is that needed?

All of that said though......

I'll contend with my original post, that I framed it all within the context of the woman being shamed because she didn't get married first before giving a man children.

Common law marriage has always been a thing, but since you brought it up (because, admittedly, I was not thinking about it when I made my post), I hardly ever hear that type of marriage lauded as the standard on TLR, nor is it held up to defend unwed ladies who give men children without a more recognized form of commitment (I.e. traditional marriage). That is the point I was trying to make.

It isn't hard to admit that most women want financial security in a divorce settlement in case the shyt goes left, so you'll get no argument or reluctance from me to "admit" that.
