Parks is aware and smart enough to understand where his bread is buttered and he had a music relationship with Joe. That alone trumps what Mal and Rory brought to the table. It can even be said that Joe helped Parks out with making connections/getting work in the music business.

Mal and Rory never did that for him lol. I will say watching that clip does make me miss the OG podcast as nostalgia. But the current podcast is bettter for having better personalities on it now.

The OG had that underground/DIY kinda vibe while the current one looks professional and upscale.

Plus he's a sound engineer so he understands the concept of just do your work on the track and get paid for that session. He doesn't expect ownership over the product. That's like Guru expecting points on Hov records. He understood who's show it was from the Jump. Rory and Mal tricked themselves into thinking they were part owners.

Now we see the podcast is still moving at the same pace without them. Them walking out gave joe exactly what he wanted, full uncontested ownership with a bunch of employees on payroll not partners.

It’s the same way kanye followed jay after rocafella broke up. He went with the guy thats garuantees better business. Not damn dash who currently has no teeth

Even before all the shyt, for like a year and a half Mal was just sitting there quiet, checking his phone and shyt, barely chiming in half the time. I remember episodes where Joe would introduce a topic and Mal would give one word answers and that's it. Joe shoulda been fired his ass
