So, this dude dies without having a successor, leaving his followers to splinter into groups that oppose each other? :dahell: :mindblown:

I've also noticed that Muhammad wouldn't be shyt without his first wife's wealth and social status in Mecca. It's ironic how shytty women are treated under Islam when it was a woman who was the catalyst for it.

The ummah chose Abu Bakr to lead once Prophet Muhammad sa passed.

and women are treated well in Islam, there are many rights women were given in the Qur'an and sunnah. Khadija was wealthy and the Prophet worked for her before they married. Don't let what the goons of today fool you... Prophet Muhammad was excellent to his wives. He also didn't marry for money if that's what you are implying. In fact, Khadija proposed marriage to him!

For 13 years he was in Mecca preaching to his own clan, Quraysh... and they rejected him. It got to the point he needed to make immigration. His own people even recognized him as trustworthy person but they did not want to hear anything about religion or One God. They got to the point where they wanted to shut him up permanently and he was their target for the rest of his life practically.

And please go up to Muslim women and ask them why the hell are they Muslim since you assume their religion doesn't treat them well. Just go to a masjid, please. Go to a Muslim community area, a university campus... anywhere you can find people who practice and ask them.

Women are entitled to many rights.. esp financially and property wise :whew:

Why would the prophet PBUH appoint a successor and perpetuate classism and royalty when Islam promotes the Shura, aka voting and consultation?

Shi'ism is a totally different religion from Islam, so I don't think there is any split in the religion friend.

As far s womens treament, that is an issue that Arabs and to some extent Persians need to deal with, as an East African I have never seen a woman treated poorly by a man in our community, EVER.

I think @FAH1223 can cosign me, Somali society is almost female driven.

IF you read about Muhammad, his first wife, the way women were treated back then as compare to most of the rest of the women on Earth..... you will understand better that many of the ways that women are treated in some nations on earth today are more cultural with religious backing as opposed to just religious. The entire story is about giving women more property rights and more of a voice - Early Muslims were attacks for that stance. There are nations that have no muslims that treat women badly - it's a poverty power, and culture thing.

Muhammad was already considered trustworthy, The point of that story isn't that she was wealthy, but that he wifed her, respected her, and all that.

But Muhammad isn't God, God son, and neither was Jesus or any other prophet. We are all humans with human natures so we have to always keep that in mind. With people you will deal with corruption... you deal with different opinions. There were different opinions on some things and that produced conflict - especially when the leaders wanted to control people. The most important thing to most of the people was being pious, so the leaders used these differences to divide.

I think a post above is referencing this- but the Sunni's simply followed the way shyt should go. Other people rejected what Muhammad said, due to retarded reasons.... those people broke off and created even crazier Muslim... that lead to extremist and Wahhabism. And those last couple represent a small fraction of 2 billion Muslims, but are the only type of Muslims people speak about.

The people decided on Abu Bakr to be his successor. Gee, sounds kinda democratic.

And Khadijah gets more than enough praise in the Islamic tradition, your snarky input in that regard isn't really necessary.

How would the Muslim world be today if some of Muhammad's followers didn't splintered off? Why was there so much disagreement over who were the true successors of him? Did Muhammad not make it clear enough?

Lets talk about how Uthman "consolidated" all existing versions of the Quran but muslims claim that the Quran is an infallible and universally coherent book :usure:

Verses are the same, that's all that matters no matter the arrangement. There needed to be a standardization and the Sahaba were Hufaadh of the Quran meaning they all memorized every verse.

Even our own @malcolmxxx_45 knows the Qur'an by heart as well as other brothers here.
