Maybe Marlo had a soft spot for kids. When they killed all those people in the house they let the kids live. When the security guard stood up to him, he had him killed. Mike stood up to him and he gave him a job 
. He didn't really want to kill Mike in the end but went through with it only because he viewed it as a last resort to preserve his freedom.

nah bruh they murdered everybody in that house. Mike let that one kid get away.
The one kid got away and there was another one hiding in the closet. Only adults were killed IIRC.
Exactly I remember in one episode that's exactly what he did. He told Chris and Snoop to make sure word got out that he was a snitch and thr rest was history. He was almost killed by that fire that kids made from from those molotovs

Marlo not killing Randy made no sense. They even killed Bodie, so we can't say he was afraid of heat from the cops...but Bodie's death did get McNulty on their ass.

Wallace and michaels scenes are similar but speaks to the style they were taught and their character
Wallace was nowhere as smart as michael. Mike could have been anything where as wallace shoild have tried to be anything but a dealer. Mike could box was book smart could run a corner and was a good hitman and became the new omar when the series ended. Dude was just made to succeed where as wallace was a worker ant who wasnt gonna ever be a top dog

I feel bad for a delivery woman came with the package at the store when Chris helped her and killed her just to frame/plot on Omar to put him in jail. That shyt was so foul for killing an innocent woman like that.....cold blooded.

Well, Marlo has let people slide or applied pressure first. He could have wiped out Lex whole crew after killing Fruit, but he decided only to kill Lex.
He only barked at Bodie and a couple of dudes for not taking his package, instead of killing them like Avon would do to his rivals.
But Randy violated like Bodie, Little Kevin, and Michael and he let Randy slide. So its hard to really call it...

Also the "he cant hurt us" line should tell you HOW Marlo is thinking about it.
Basically, its a game. He got randy ostracized, made him a pariah in his own hood which is WORSE at that age..he lost ALL credibility as being a solid dude....
