What does him being a college graduate have to do with him being from the streets or being a "gimmick"? There's PLENTY of people that are from the hood, that have graduated from college

Did he ever say that he didnt attend college? I dont recall anyone ever asking him that....it seems that you assumed that about him.
He had an image of a hood dude, which he was, who was from the streets, which he was, who used to be homeless and lived out of his car, which he did, who used to be a bodyguard and bouncer, which he was, and that he could throw hands, which he could. What "gimmick" are you talking about?

kimbo was an aging youtube tough guy who was fighting in people's backyards...and the ufc put him on the reality series. then even after he looked like a complete amateur in comparison to everyone else, he still got put in big shows. he got opportunities that other fighters spend years, if not their whole careers working towards. dude got hooked up cuz he was an internet celebrity and the ufc thought they could cash in on the "street fighter" gimmick. dude wasn't even close to being a mixed martial artist and they hyped and promoted an entire ultimate fighter season based on him, for god's sake. what the fukk else did you want dana to do for him?

They did on that TUF season he was in. Everytime someone had a injury cloud they would show the previews of the next episode talking about kimbo being an option to replace whoever

Dana was trying to walk a fine line of trying to make the UFC appear as some holy ground that couldnt be done by a street fighter.
He could've brought in more casual fans w/ Kimbo, but he would've pissed off the long-time UFC fans in the process.
He ultimately achieved the casual fan demo with Brock Lesnar, tho...and even tho many "real" UFC fans were pissed, at least Brock had a wrestling background
