Why did the Gen X generation - Matrix, Fight Club, RATM, MTV, Clerks, Nirvana, Wu Tang, Tupac, Woodstock 99 - All become MAGA Trumpers?

It's nothing more than a more harmful version of what happened to the white hippies from the 60s and 70s.

They grew up, got jobs, had families, and want to maintain what little trinkets and crumbs that they've attained.

However, what's unique about the Trump fans is the massive swing towards nationalism and hard-core conservatism.

Likely due to misinformation from the internet. Especially Facebook.

Most of the people in this video became hardcore Republicans.

Yep. Krist Nova-who gives a fukk how to spell his name and Courtney Love are big on that shyt, makes you wonder if Kurt was alive, would he have went the same route? He was big on that leftist/progressive shyt when he was alive, even had It Takes a Nation of Millions as one of his favorite albums.

People get more conservative as they age.

The more I think about it, I can see why people voted for Trump. Immigration and the Economy are big issues.

Women don't really give a shyt about abortion. They probably had their kids and are done.
Democrats fukked up because they didn't think people were multifaceted especially minorities.

This was a generation that prided itself on bucking the system, being anti-religion, anti-authority, lazy, directionless, and eschewing societal expectations yet are the most far right generation, arguably more than Boomers?

They arguably grew up during the peak of human existence. Limited foreign wars, the US the unquestioned super power, entered the job market largely before the economic collapse and Bush wars. If you could send an email during the tech boom you were set for life.

I understand Gen Z. They’ll be fighting for scraps and wealth is less on ability and more on entertainment. When your peers can make thousands a day from selling feet pics or playing video games there is no point to believe in anything other than scamming.

But Gen X sold out and they didn’t even have a reason and told us for years they were the rebel generation. :francis:
Interesting question. Real talk, people start leaning towards conservatism when they get older. As they reach their mid 30s and 40s they want stability and structure in their lives. That also applies to the areas around them. The issue is there is a difference between conservatism and right-wing conservatism. People have to compartmentalize specific issues within that ideology and accept or ignore the rest when they vote.

It may seem that way but I don't quite think so. As a card carrying member of Gen.X, we're grown af now and own shyt and still largely don't give fukk. I laugh at ppl so caught up in whatever is going on in D.C knowing damn well it don't matter. This is mostly a white phenomenon, I had plenty of white friends in Texas when I was growing up. Now a lot of those same dudes are MAGA'd all the way and I just deleted them from any form of communication I've had with them. Same with my white friends from the Marine Corps, especially the ones who latched on to blackness back then. Those are normally the main ones who revealed their true colors as we've aged. But still fukk em all . The generations behind us will go through the same thing as they age. As you get older and start creating families and amassing ownership of things you start to wanna protect those things and you might start to vote with your personal interests in mind instead of some ideological bullshyt.

Well this fake quote was floating around years ago that many Gen z believed was real. A lot of them feel that Trump is an "outsider" so they still feel rebellious in their politics.
