Stallone wanted to use pictures/footage of Apollo in Rocky Balboa. Weathers wanted to actually show up in the film, which was impossible without any fukkery. Weathers got butthurt when Stallone said no.

How do you get old ass Carl Weathers in the film without Apollo coming back from the dead?
Does he get visited by his ghost, who just so happens to look old as fukk compared to when he died? Cornball ish, even for Rocky.
It's pretty easy actually, you shoot a new scene of Rocky remembering a moment/conversation with Apollo that would have been relevant to the plot of Rocky Balboa. The scene where Rocky Ali's about Apollo in the restaurant for example. That's actually not a Bad Idea but we're all just looking at the fact that Apollo is dead already. I suppose this could Work for a Flashback Memory but I don't think Real Fans of Rocky would like to see that. I'm not the Biggest Fan so I wouldn't mind it, plus I liked the Charcter of Apollo Creed.
