Because Biggie took the chorus for "Get Money" remix from Boot Camp Clik at concert and they got mad about it, even though they took it from a reggae song lol

Then they had videos dissing him, Biggie had JM jump Starang at D&D studios. Ruck and Rock wanted to retaliate but Dru Ha said let it go.

During that whole time Tek and Biggie were mad cool. They would hang out together all the time.

Yeah I caught that while playing the album lol

Never knew about this beef. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

Starang is a underrated mc. Not sure what the beef was over but seemed harmless looking back.

BCC was on some grimy hip-hop shyt but I don't think they were ready for the street drama like that. On Heltah Skeltah's album that Clans, Posses, Crews, and Clicks track was obviously aimed at WU. Maybe they saw it as friendly competition but people will waste no time escalating things over petty shyt.

Anyway, that OGC album is a classic.

It was about Puffy and Biggie got caught in the crossfire. As someone stated, "Flossying" style hip hop was considered too commerical back then. The Streets always respected Biggie's skills which is why they didn't want him going the Puffy Flossy route and wanted him to stay 100% underground. Junior Mafia is rumored to put the beats on them. Yes they were mad at Junior Mafia using the hook on the "Get Money Remix" like someone said though, it was already from a popular reggae song. With that said, BCC has stated many times it was a misunderstanding and everyone loves Biggie. Biggie did get them on a freestyle though:

You sure? I never felt that way. What, cuz of "Clans" in the song name? I just think they talking in general, hence also "posse, crews & cliks". Nothing
in the lyrics of the song seemed aimed at Wu, so im not sure what makes it a "obvious" Wu diss.

:mjlol: y'all always reachin any little perceived chance you get.

Preciate the link, but that doesn't tell me why Starang stopped rapping. Even when he caught the beats, he was still rapping. Does he or anyone in his camp say, "I specifically stopped rapping because I caught the beats?". Did listeners stop fukking with Starang once he caught the beats?

Bro if u read the interview with steele, he says...starang gave up and left the industry. Im simply guessing tgat there were multiple reasons and that whooping was one reason drom many tgat made him quit rapping

Right. but we don't know what those reasons are. That's what I'm trying to find out. Maybe the beating played a part but he was rapping after that shyt (and even referenced it on some funny shyt). It's not like he caught beats and immediately stopped rapping :yeshrug:
