Why did Megatron allow Starscream to live so long? Update:Optimus had a trash squad

I did like in the animated 'Transformers the Movie'. After Starscream throws a wounded Megatron out the ship he comes back as Galvatron and melts him down.

That scene scared me as a kid.


Just like that Starscream was gone.

I was watching the OG Transformers and this nikka Starscream keeps telling Megatron "I'mma take your spot one day, b" Megatron here like "Yeah, yeah nikka no you won't."
This nikka betrays Megs to the Autobots and he's like "I knew you would betray me."

So nikka why did you let him live. You should've killed him long ago.

Soundwave was mad loyal and more useful than Starscream. Everyone doing their part Starscream like I made my contribution. Yeah you wasted energon by shooting at some damn rocks.

It was also said (cant remember where) more than once Soundwave was 2nd in strength to Megatron... In some show he went rouge, had cyborg/Decepticon army or something & had them cryin to Megatron to stop him... Using his radio to brain wash people with music...

Beast wars is the GOAT animated adaptation of Transformers. But if you're a comic book fan, you're doing yourself a huge disservice by not keeping up with Transformers universe being published by IDW

I dont even look at him as a snake,i like at him as ambitious...All the other decepticons were drones who were ok being worker bees,SS wanted more and was always plotting to overthrow the govt i can respect it....he should have aligned himself with dinobots early on and he could have took the crown...

And deep down, Megatron respected their ambition cause that's what being a predacon/deception is all about. being evil and ambitious and trying to grab power He was all of those things so he could respect the struggle on some
And plus, most of the time he would know what they were planning and use it to further his own plan

The Same reason why Darth Sidious didn't kill Anakin. Sidious could pretty much read minds and he knew that Anakin was with him only because of a reason other than loyalty (he wanted to save Padame). At the same time, he needed Anakin because he was the best available and it wasn't even close.

He also knew that he would have to deal with him at a later date. Fortunately, that never happened because Skywalker caught that fade vs. Obi wan.

Optimus and Soundwave have put all their beefs to the side and are now working together to unite all Cybertronians

Soundwave felt that the Decepticons had strayed too far from Megatron's original goal (equality for the lower class) and is trying to steer them back on the right path

The IDW comics have put an interesting spin on the whole war - it's essentially a civil rights issue
