You get 6 games a week. Thats more than MLB and NHL. You dont even get that many NBA games until later in the season. You wrote that long ass post to complain about missing 1 game.

You're getting more than 6 games a week with MLB, ESPN shows more than just the Sunday game. Also, I know I'm factoring local TV coverage of baseball teams which just isn't feasible with the NFL, but it still seems like NFL could be doing more in terms of TV coverage.

Baseball's also on throughout the week. You can't compare the two. It's as if you're asking the NFL to compensate for the days in which it's not on.

The Yay
again, youre not offering concrete solutions that would benefit the actual channels.

channels arent idiots. they dont want the same region getting two games at once because then their ratings will be split up. you want choice, the channels dont so they can get more money from ads.

youre thinking how shyt would be more convenient to you as a fan without thinking how the channels even make money off the nfl broadcasts.

and local games always get shown no matter the time. in the bay all niners and raiders are pretty much always shown on local channels if its cbs or fox game.

What more could they do? Add that ONE game you complaining about? NBA TV doesnt show games while ESPN, ABC, and TNT are. Why do you expect NFL Network to?

Look at the MLB schedule for this week and next week. ESPN is showing like 1 game, 2 at the max. All them other games you counting are local.

Yea that's kind of my point, NFL's coverage is lacking to me considering it's basically played on just one day. Whatever, if ya'll think TV coverage is good we'll agree to disagree, I'm not gonna go back and forth over it.

Your complaint stems from how the games are played, not how its covered. You cant have NFL games on every day like you can with the other sports. That doesnt mean the games that are being played arent being covered well.

Having 6 games shown in a week is pretty good for a league that is basically one day.

I see what ur saying here.....and I'll agree to a point. It's why I will always say that NBA League Pass, MLB TV, etc. >>>>>> NFL Sunday Ticket.

But they have more games so it's just the nature of the beast.

I think it mostly has to do with ad revenue. Sure CBS and FOX can both show a game at 1 and at 4 but would it be worth it for them? Looking thru the schedule, its slim pickings for the 4pm games. Plus theres not as much 4pm games by the looks of it. I can go thru each week and pick out 1 game that looks like a lock to be shown nationally. Sure you have your ratings drawers like the pats, steelers, cowboys, and packers. And other marquee teams. So it may not be profitable for the other channel to show a game with less popular teams that may get less viewers. Yeah us hardcore fans will watch any game but casual fans only likely watch their teams and the teams that are interesting. Now late in the season I think they do it how if its an important game with playoff implications then they might show it. But early it dont work like that. Take week 1 for example. There are 3 games starting at 4:25, yeah another thing i noticed is the odd start times. The 3 games are all on FOX. Panthers at Bucs, Seahawks at Cards, and 49ers at Packers. Obviously the 49ers-Packers game gonna be shown. Since that would gain the most viewers. Not saying the other teams cant draw viewers but not as much as the Packers. Even the SNF and MNF games are filled with marquee or big city teams. Its all a business and they know what they are doing to draw the most money from the casual fans. The more people they can get to watch the games, the more money they can make from companies to advertise their products. Personally i wish they would have double headers back to back, so I can see more of my Fantasy team players when i can, but sometimes thats not possible. :manny:

cuz the NFL will make $20.4 billion this year and next in their current TV deals

from 2014-2022 they will make $39.6 billion

is it worth losing THAT kind of money just to play 2 games on a network that most people dont even get in the first place? Thats why the Thursday game makes perfect sense

I'm speaking strictly of games shown, not talking about the sport 24/7 like ESPN does with their variety of shows. The NFL is basically on for 1 day out of the week and if you don't have NFL Ticket, which isn't even available to everyone, how many games are you actually getting to watch on Sunday without illegal links?

:mindblown:

What? Assuming you don't get NFL network, you get at least 4 games a week out of a maximum of 16 games (when bye weeks come in, not every team is playing) so you get at least 25% of all the games on television.

Are you watching 25% of any other league's games on a regular setup?:aicmon:
