Why Can't The MCU Do Super-Powered Fight Scenes Well?

Snyder-less DC films have crappy fight scenes also

ppl can hate on Snyder all they want but he gave us visual piff

there has not been a single comic book fight that was more exciting than Zod vs Superman since it dropped and there probably never will be until Synder starts doing superhero flicks again

That legit had that comic book feel. The punches had weight and looked impactful and that's usually missing in MCU fight scenes

I know its not literally a "comic book" movie, but I like Chronical's "Akira"-style telekinesis effects



I think the characters move like they have real mass, and the attacks feel like they have real momentum behind them.

I think the Superman vs. Zod was kind of going for an effect like this, but in this case the bigger budget made it feel less "real" to me.

Thor was lame, to be fair, the first movie was directed by Brannagh who clearly wanted to make it Shakespeare.

Iron Man 1-3...the reveal of the suits was nicer than the actual combat.

Hulk 1 - nut punching hulk-dogs was probably the cringiest thing Marvel has ever shown.

All the fights in the X1-3, Apocalypse, and Wolverine in general, was just bad.

Thor Ragnarok - They made Hela a kunai chucking robot....no martial arts, no power (except the hammer breaking), very boring rights.

All three Fantastic 4's - Garbo.


Only recently have they picked it up....


Captain America trilogy is the goat of fight scenes.

Logan was a masterpiece.

Guardians 2 was cool till they basically made Ego a tentacle monster....that part was lame.

Black Panther was excellent, of course.

and Infinity War delivered from both the Villains and Heroes. We just need less Widow.
