The guy has a near career ending injury where there were concerns about his strength throwing the ball when he came back and if he would ever be the same...Yet somehow at the age of 37 he has his best season ever and breaks records?
I hate to make it a race thing but anybody remember how it was sacrilegious to believe that Roger Clemens was juicing and that nobody really questioned how he was so good and seemed to have gotten better as he got older? I remember as a Yankee fan every year there were talks of Roger Clemens coming back and sometimes he did and performed phenomenally it was like he had a magic elixir to beat father time.
When Mark McGuire was hitting homeruns you were scolded if you brought up any doubt and the media started having stories about the balls being juiced because they were made differently to explain it but defended Mark to the death when they found creatine in his locker room.
As soon as Barry Bonds though started to explode at his age that is when cheating and steroids became an issue...even Tiger Woods got the steroid rumor mill churning at one point.
I'm not saying I believe Peyton is doing anything illegal but it surprises me that people aren't even speculating but if Donovan McNabb had this season in Washington years ago when he was traded would they have taken it at face value?
I also admit that I could be absolutely ignorant in how steroids would affect a qb since i'm not sure more strength can affect accuracy and I don't watch Peyton on a weekly basis to know if there is more zip to the ball or anything to even make any assumptions.
