definitely not. race is weird in Brazil. they don't have the whole 1 drop rule that the USA does. even when someone is half black or clearly mixed they don't consider themselves black.

that fakkit Neymar caught some heat a while black for claiming he's not black
His pops is clearly negro

I used to train in MMA back in the early aughts. They used to push the black girls into boxing and wouldn't book or support us for MMA fights. They still want their fighters looking "sexy" and approving of the white male gaze, even the gay/lesbian ones. The day this starts happening to little white and Brazilian girls...

...it's over for women's MMA.

Beautiful!

We’re conditioned, but truthfully the one drop rule makes zero sense. Brazil has it mostly right, except they have the reverse one-drop rule for cacs.

Wow, straight from the source here! Thank you for this answer. I was wondering this same thing for so long.

you'd think there'd be some Serena WIlliams type chick by now wrecking shyt but over 10 years of mainstream female MMA and there's never really been any championship quality black female fighters...

why do you think that is? :jbhmm:
Black women aren't into mma like that is the simple answer.

Most the women in MMA were into some kind of martial arts as children to begin with. So there is some kind of passion for fighting there...shyt there needs to be for how little they're paid.

I don't know too many black parents putting their daughters into martial arts.
