Im sure you guys know that the history of techno actually started in Detroit and the masterminds behind it were all african-americans. Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson. These dudes pioneered one of the worlds leading genres yet it seems like americans have no idea who they are while they are very well respected over-seas. I was just curious why they dont get the love of rappers get who have had 1/2 the international influence these dudes have.

And for the techno haters listen to this and tell me it aint impressive

the music doesnt really have a "groove" or "swing"

this is why i cant get into techno very much. i do like some bits of techno, just not much because of the lack of groove, for lack of a better description.

everyone who is "into" techno also enjoys tripping way too much all the time. in my experience black people do not generally enjoy using psychedelic drugs recreationally.

Yo that's ill.
I love seeing electronic music translated
to an orchestra, it's cool to see how traditional
instruments can "fill in" for those sounds.
Violins and flutes for highs, cello for bass etc.

I'd just chalk it up to generational ignorance.
There are a lot of people in general who know
nothing of black contribution to Techno even
I myself only know of a few of the originators.

With that said are you sure it started in detroit ?
I'm certain the genre was developing in Germany around
the same time.

in chicago, detroit and most of the major cities, black people are into it, its just usually nikkas in the south that aint on the shyt. thats pretty much how it is with most EDM tho. and sometimes its just youngsters that front on the shyt, i'm cool wit older heads (35-45) black folk, and they are all about house music and shyt. but then again i'm a dj, who plays a bit of this shyt so i see it more.
