You say they're "horrible" with no context.
The acting is good. You said yourself the Ida is good.
What makes the episodes so bad?
My Quote was:
"The idea is cool. The execution was horrible.
The episodes are boring and feel forced.
If you enjoy them that's cool then. I didn't."
What do you mean "You say they're "horrible" with no context."?
I've gone into detail in the official thread to which you kept replying that I was just repeating myself.
I've openly praised this game for what it did right and criticized it for what I feel it did wrong.
I think the game overall is decent. Not amazing.
The episodes were a good idea. The episodes themselves were boring though. I'm not going to sit here and post clips of each and every scene I found boring. Once you get past the second level if you still enjoy the episodes let me know. Personally, I thought they were cheesy and did nothing to enhance the game. Some people love Harry Potter. Personally I find it corny and can't really explain why and don't feel the need to. People like what they like.
Again it's only another perspective to the story.
In all other games the "bad guys" are an enigma. You never really know their goals or motivations, other than being evil.
Giving them their own story time ads a lot to the game IMO. Even if production values aren't as good as another show.
For example in uncharted I always wondered why the bad guys existed and how the hell are they already standing inside every tomb waiting for me to show up.
A show/cutscenes depicting what the bad guys were doing would go a long way there. It's good to see the other perspective, makes them human as opposed to nameless faceless cannon fodder.
How many episodes have you seen and what about the show revealed something about the actual game that you wouldn't have found out if you didn't watch the show?
Did you need to be told in Uncharted where every single enemy was and how they got there? Does watching 2 of 80 enemies you kill in the game hop out of a car and stand in a designated position before you actually find them in game really change your experience?
In Quantum Break the entire story revolves around 1 main enemy, his henchman which he doesn't trust, and an army of Monarch soldiers. What exactly is this "Motivation and goals, other than being evil" that you learned about in the episodes that wasn't in the game? Because in QB just like every other game in existence, their is a main enemy and a bunch of "soldiers" on his team you have to get through to get to him. I'm just not seeing where you're coming from with the praise that Quantum Break is doing something other games aren't in respects to the episodes. I've watched all of them expect the last one and none of them have revealed anything important to the actual game.
Sidenote: This post ended up being a lot longer than I wanted it to be. I'm not upset about the game, I'm just trying to answer your question as completely as possible.
