Songs? Is it the labels fault for all the delays and picking what they think is mainstream appeal? Or is the rapper just deaf when it comes to his best beats n lyrics. Best example, Life is Good. Nas seriously left Black Bond and Trust off the main album, those were his best songs in years. Yet he included summer on smash and that wack Mary j blige with the recycled beat smh:snoop:

this or labels who only like the commercial tracks to be on the albums

wheres the love-roses-trust where 3 of the best lig tracks. Black Bond was a good as a bonus tough, didn't fit the album it's too much of a soundtrack movie track kind of vibe

Or maybe it's cause the songs doesn't fit the album.
Like on Watch The Throne, all the bonus tracks were dope as fukk but none of them would fit the albums flow..

I have to applaud J Cole for doing what Lupe and Nas shoulda did

He put his "single" Work Out at the very end of his album, so it doesnt need to be skipped

Why doesnt everyone do this?! :mindblown:

So summer on smash fit the vibe of the album? Queens story had a soundtrack vibe too. Black bond woulda fit perfectly

Nas is a troll and has been doing this since iww. there's probably more black bond/trust/where's the love quality tracks that didn't even make the bonus cuts.

1. Deadlines
2. sample clearances
3. R&B is worse with this than hip-hop.

so many great R&B songs that were unreleased....or didn't come out until years later and were re-worked b/c the labels made the artist change tehm or the song got passed around to multiple artists.

drake biggest hit off the album was a bonus track "the motto"
As was Nicki (Super Bass).

Tyga (Make It Nasty) and Wayne (Mirror) had big hits as bonus songs, too.

Those extra $3 for the deluxe edition, man, that's what's doing it -- as far as commercial reasons. YNCMB know what they doing.

Pretty much...Or they weren't really feeling it and was afraid that the public weren't going to like it either...

Co-sign on the bolded...Michael Jackson is a good example on this...I always felt THIS sing should have been on Bad...but Quincy Jones had to hate and made Mike take it off...:smh:

Qunicy Jones also hated Billie Jean too..and was REALLY close to kicking it off Thriller.....:wtf:....Mike's career would have been a TAD bit different if that would have happened..

if you look at the album and read the title and know what Summer On Smash is about i think it does fit. if SoS wasn't on Life Is Good i wouldn't think his Life was Good at all because it wouldn't seem like he's havin a great time which is what i think SoS implied that Nas is out here havin a great time as a newly single guy who just got out of a divorce. if he's on a cd called Life Is Good just makin a bunch of tracks about his life which wasn't good then the title wouldn't make sense.
