Can someone tell me why people are giving the Nets such high praise when there's not much difference between this year's team and last year's team?

Isn't it essentially the same group of people.... except with Joe Johnson and CJ Watson?

And they won 22 games.

I'm sorry, but Joe Johnson isn't winning you 30 more games. Now it looks like they're gonna be in toughest division in the East with the Knicks, Boston, and the Sixers with Bynum.

Ok... they're gonna be a little more healthy. Yea... what's the over under on how many games Brook Lopez will play? 50 games maybe?

I'm sorry, but while I think they'll be a playoff team, I don't see how people place them 2 or 3 in East. But maybe it's just me.

My prediction is the Nets will be 6 seed...

Heat
Boston
Knicks/Pacers/Sixers (I'm not sure how this will shake out)
Nets
Atlanta/Milwaukee

Prior to last season, Brook Lopez never missed a game.

How many seasons has brook lopez been in the league? 4 years?

And he played in what... 5 games last year? After he came back, he went right back out.

Hopefully he gets it together and can stay on the floor with a full offseason... but his physique doesn't seem like it'll be that easy for him to overcome injuries. But I may be wrong.

But that also doesn't change my point. What is the great difference that's gonna win them 30 more games against tougher competition?

CJ Watson, Joe Johnson, and a full season of Brook Lopez?

Ehhhh....

Delusional New Yorkers. I said it once and I'll say it again. They're going from a 22 win season to 33-35 with Johnson. 7th-8th seed at most.

A full season of Brook, a year with Joe Johnson, Marshon as a 6th man, a full year of Gerald Wallace, Deron in shape and motivated. Hump is back. They can get a lot better next season.

It's mostly the media... I can't really say a whole lot of people on here because most are either Lakers stans or New York haters.

But a lot of people are saying the Nets will be the 3rd or 4th best team in the East.... I just don't see it

Even if you say Gerald Wallace played in 16 games and Brook Lopez in only 5. They're gonna be in the toughest division in the east... their bench isn't that good. Like I said... I'm sure they'll be a playoff team, which is at least 4 spots higher than this year, but I don't see them being so much better that they jump up 10 spots in the eastern conference...

Especially considering the Sixers, Boston, Knicks, and Miami all got better in the offseason... and Indiana is still gonna be good.

Are you people serious? No difference between last year and this year?

Last year the starting line up was dwill, morrow, d stevenson, humphries and sheldon fukking williams.

The nets lost more games to injury last year than any team in the NBA. Lopez never missed a game and last year only played in 5 games. Replaced him with okur and he missed the season.

We had about 3 nikkaz from the d league come up to play the 3 for us because bum ass shawne Williams broke his foot.

Now we got arguably the best back court in the league, a legit 7 footer, and a legit 3? Probably the biggest steal of the draft in brooks at 25th pick. Everyone on the team plays their position and they all fit together.

I swear some of you nikkaz dont watch basketball.

Delusional New Yorkers? This team hasn't even officially touched down in the city and outside of a few Big L type clowns on the Coli, this is still Knicks town. Ain't no one but the media tryin to rile up Knick fans for ratings SERIOUSLY looking at the Nets as a contender. Delusional New Yorkers? :childplease:

Brook Lopez? Deron Williams? Gerald Wallace? Joe Johnson? :shaq2:

Oh and :pacspit: @ their stupid ass posters on the train btw.

Settle down . The reason why people are saying this is some putting you behind the heat and you haven't played a game. What makes you say they all play there position and fit together? They haven't played together

You're right... they CAN be. But with that logic, people should be saying the same thing about the Knicks, lol

A full season of a healthy and in shape Melo, a healthy Amare, and in shap Felton, with Chandler at the center... Then when Shump comes back

Then you have Kidd, Camby, Smith, Brewer, and Novak coming off of the bench...

People say the Knicks have a bunch of pieces that don't fit together, when actually that's not really true... It's really only one piece that doesn't fit... and that's Amare/Melo and Amare/Chandler.

But we even saw that work for 8 games I think... when everyone was healthy

Would you think that Felton, Shumpert, Melo, Camby, Chandler fits?

What about Kidd, Smith, Brewer, Novak, Camby?

Both of those look like line-ups that fit pretty well...

At the end of the day.... The Nets COULD be great... but they haven't shown me anything that should put them higher than a 6 seed at this point.

because its really idiotic to say all they did was add joe johnson.

Our backup pg last year was Sundiata Gaines. :scusthov:
Back up C was Johan Petro :to:
Shelden Williams was our starting center for majority of the season. :snoop:
We had 3 dudes from the d league start at SF for us.:damn:

its crazy how much of an upgrade it is.

Bruh... nobody said there was NO difference. I just don't see the differences catapulting them to the 2nd or 3rd best team in the east...

That's it.... I said they'll make the playoffs, at probably a 6 seed. But I just can't see anything better than that, unless they show me more when they actually play a few games.

Edit: And the bench still isn't that good... You said marshon brooks at the 6th man spot. Then who... CJ Watson?... Jerry Stackhouse?.... what?

You need AT LEAST a quality 8 man rotation to make it through the regular season... let alone to make it through the playoffs.

3rd or 4th best. Other than Boston and Philly who else not named the Heats are a serious threat. Indy will be solid and the Sixers will make some noise. But that's really about it.
