they kinda chose a bad example; this guy has a navy pension, a wife who can work, and two special needs kids who probably qualify for SSI. he doesnt really have the same desperation as a single, solitary broke breh.
Agreed. Anyone with a pension (even a small one) is in a better position in terms of not being as stressed to go into a full time conventional job. A pension with gig work on the side to make the rest of the ends meet doesn't sound that bad to be honest.

Middle aged men who didn’t climb the ladder very high or much at all arent really a boon to workplaces anymore. Women get a lot of lower and middle management jobs that a man would have had 30-40 years ago.

In blue collar careers people start to see declines in their health late 30s kind of like being a professional athlete.

It’s just tough to get a high paying job for many or they have a shaky job history to begin with. Better to take care of the kids than try to navigate hostile workplaces. Especially for straight black men.

Corporate America nowadays dont want ANYONE challenging leadership positions, and yes, straight black men are looked as enemies of the current structure. That's why they hire superficial women dependant on those semi-large paychecks, cause they dont have another alternative.
