Why are gamers accepting this DLC shyt?

Never bought DLC unless it's for a game that's been out for over a year and continues to evolve/add more content.


The map pack shyt got on my nerves. I'm not waiting for Destiny to charge for extra content that they removed from the game,

Only game is probably Battlefield, DC Universe Online (because it's free) and Warframe (because it's free).

I never even bought DLC for Elder of Scrolls sand I loved those games

I don't see anything wrong with DLC honestly. Should it cost less? sure, charging 15 dollars for 3 maps is ridiculous. The idea of DLC is brilliant though, instead of funding a full fledged sequel, you can extend the life of your game with dlc while also charging. The only DLC i have a problem with is bullshyt console specific dlc,preorder dlc, or fukking retail store specific dlc.

its 2 am and I could type on this bull shyt ass subject for hours.. I dont think anything in gaming world outside of the casualization of video games has made more mad than these bull shyt "expansion packs" (aka map packs and character packs that were given for free for years as a thank you to customers for spending their hard earned money on their video games)

id slap the shyt outta an EA or infinity ward CEO if they tried justifying these bull shyt DLCs to me in person

and PC bruhs... we aint any better.. our expansion packs/DLC might be more complete than the console DLCs but they used to be $30 (double the price of most expensive DLC on consoles) but now they are starting to charge $39.99 and $49.99 for expansion packs

$50 for an expansion pack to a $60 game

edit: and I was never really a collectors edition kind of guy (for me I just wanna play the game) but Collectors Editions used to be $79.99-129.99 but come with some shyt I can see some people getting legit excited about (it was rare).

Now collectors editions arent even collectors edition (you can buy them any time even after release ) they are just $20-30 more expensive than the original game and come with a future DLC (get fukking real if you see this for a collectors edition just assume the game is trash) or some skins or some shyt.. "oh shyt I got the blue skin now because I paid $30 extra for the game " before they used to come in a nice tin case with a big ass book and some autographs or some shyt

It's why i said the idea of it is brilliant, but the execution is that of greed. I completely understand it, if people will pay for it instead of taking a stand, then continue to push that product on them.

I've only done it for Gears 3 it was worth it in content alone.

And I'll be doing it for Mario Kart 8, (dat exicte bike course) when done right it's an awesome thing and developers should be paid rewarded for their work.

It becomes a problem when a$$hole companies make you pay for shyt that should be unlocked through gameplay.

DLC should be in the vein of Rockstar something seperate from the main game that's a unique experience on its own stuff like Lost and the Damned, Ballad of Gay Tony and Undead Nightmare would be the ideal model for DLC going forward but we all know they in this to make extra money on the backend.

Boycott the game. I don't buy madden anymore and i didn't buy 2k last year because 2k13 sucked. It's not difficult to boycott a game, it's just most gamers would rather complain instead of standing for something.
