I would be a lot happier if I somehow had the capacity to completely ignore injustice and all the ways the world is going to shyt and just be out for myself. That's literally not possible for me though, I can't even try it without feeling more stressed by what I'm not doing.


There's a positive side too though - I do believe that family and marriage and religion and stability all increase happiness, and conservatives do those better than liberals.

The thing is I see studies that say the opposite, that conservatives are guided largely by fear. Fear and happiness are generally seen as mutually exclusive emotions.

- Socioeconomic : the average Republican is richer, has more money, stable family life where they bank on an inheritance etc (Wall Street Republicans). Financial stability can greatly increase one’s peace of mind. The daily grind of poverty, check to check lifestyle etc. can take a great toll on one’s mental. The breadbasket republicans (Wal-Mart Republicans) have simpler expectations for life, God, family and football dumb shyt like that. Simple happies simple pleasures

- Empathy : democrats get super butt hurt over the injustices of others. Go look at Twitter and you’ll see liberal white men (privileged) shouting about the injustices of those who are not privileged. That type of attention to injustice and the negative view it gives you of society can take a toll on someone’s mental. Republicans mainly care about themselves and their next door neighbors, not the poverty stricken lower class on the southside of Chicago.

But for real. I truly thank God that I'm not a liberal. I talk so much shyt about them, but on my life I hope you all find peace and turn back from teachings that are obviously ruining humanity (that's NOT hyperbole). I have so much love in my heart not only because I have a beautiful wife, children, home etc blah blah . . . But FIRST because I give it all to the MOST HIGH with so much humility knowing it can all be taken away from me in an instant. My pops told me a few days ago that life isn't really as short as it is fragile. That will always stay with me.

That said, I really can see how conservatives are happier. They are more likely to not place their inner faith in men and their crappy institutions, but in God. That ONE aspect alone is enough to make this data credible.

It's definitely not greed for money,. warmongering, racism, nationalism, or environmental destruction that will destroy humanity, it's.... being passionate about equality and social justice.

You probably even think sexual promiscuity is liberal, which is wild if you've met many conservatives. This is the movement of 90% of the manosphere, the movement that considers Donald Trump a patron saint. I'd love to see a survey that tells us whether liberals or conservatives are more likely to know what "no" means.

Sadly, "love in their hearts" hasn't done a great job of describing conservatives for at least the last 200 years.

That said, I really can see how conservatives are happier. They are more likely to not place their inner faith in men and their crappy institutions, but in God. That ONE aspect alone is enough to make this data credible.

You could have also said, "They don't demonstrate empathy for those in worse situations than themselves, therefore have a lot less to worry about."

The correlation between conservatism and church attendance is a recent historical accident. There are plenty of societies where the conservatives largely don't give a crap about God, and others where the most active liberals are the most faithful.

Faith in God may lower your worries about your own problems, but it doesn't mean you'll be "happy" in the polled sense. The OT prophets generally did not come off as "happy". Jesus did not tell the well-off people he met to "be happy". Hell, it's dangerous to equate human emotions with God the Father, but most of the time GOD does not appear happy with the direction the world is going. So why should I be?
