don't know about that considering Brazil has recently put a handful Brazilian ballers have made NBA squad(some of whom have been former All Stars relatively recently)and while this is a weak year for them they usually perform well in international competition:patrice:but even if Brqazil don't give a shyt about basketball that doesn't explain why the country with biggest half Afro decent population outside of Africa fields Olympic teams(including those in sports which blacks traditionally excel)which are so deficient of melanin/wouldn't look out of place Argentine or Scandinavian squads:shaq2:

Apparently the Brazilian census only counts 7% of Brazilians as non-mixed black so right there we see that colorism is a big problem even on paper.

Also your question leads to an even bigger question. How many dark skinned people of any race are at the Olympics outside of track and boxing? The IOC still has a lot of work ahead.

1)many Brazilians whom aren't counted as black in Brazil would be black by US standards

2)that still don't explain why a nation with over half of the population non white(with a large percentage of them having significant African descent) most the Brazilian athletes/teams are being sun baked saltines:comeon:...

They do not have a one drop rule.

They'd been mixing 200 years prior to U.S slavery, in other words, imagine how mixed black americans (whom are already mixed) will look 200 years from now. People like Anderson Silva and Peele have discovered they have 20% european ancestry, look it up.

The U.S is the only country that goes by the one drop rule, in other words, we're the backward ones, not the other way around.

The soccer team might look white to us, but note the curly hair in the majority of them....their whites are extremely mixed too. We are used to going by phenotype but thats a very hard thing to do when it comes to brazil. I've been there twice and I'd see a girl with blonde hair, only to see her grandpa come scoop her up and he's black. Im lookin like :wtf:

number 11, 14, 5,8 all probably have black in them for all we know.

20% isnt high and a increasing number of Brazilians are starting to identify as black or mixed. Black in America are far better represented than blacks in Brazil and most countries. The opening ceremonies had a much larger percentage of Brazilans of African descent than the athletes.

No, they aren't using american dna testing that cost god knows how much, it was actually done by the State, and Im pretty sure they'd want to be more white than black but found out the truth and just couldn't deny it any longer.

Oddly enough the ones identifying as mixed or black would be constituted as white in our definition. They're doing this to abuse the free schooling that was designated for the "Negro" population. There's a documentary on this on youtube. I think it's VICE.
