Dabbing is dead. This is the next celebration that every sports figure will have done two months from now.

There has been one overriding theme to the college football bowl season: Players celebrating stuff by running in place.

Here's Alabama after its first touchdown of the Cotton Bowl:

Here are Deshaun Watson and Wayne Gallman in the Orange Bowl:



And Ohio State:



And Baylor:



And Houston:



And Ole Miss:

Even Penn State's punter got in on it:

This is just a sampling.

The start of all this is the music video for "Ritz Carlton" by Plies, a rapper who REALLY LIKES YELLING and, once upon a time, played wide receiver for Miami (Ohio) under his government name, Algernod Washington. (Here's a picture of him in action -- he's No. 5.) In the video, Plies claims to have "RAN OFF ON THE PLUG TWICE." As in, he got away without paying his drug hookup, then managed to do it again. He celebrates this accomplishment like this:



It's simultaneously incredibly dorky and baller as all hell. He's running in place like a doofus, but he's wearing a bathrobe and shades while holding a bottle in his Ritz-Carlton bathroom which happens to have money thrown all over the floor.

Anyway, your favorite football player already knows about this. If it's anything like dabbing, it'll be no time until even the oldest, most out-of-touch people in the world will be doing it, and you will be begging for the end of running off on the plug.

The happiest person about this? Plies,who seems to be watching every one of these games and tweeting videos of players running off on the plug twice.The least happy person is presumably Plies' plug, who now has to watch famous athletes celebrate his embarrassing encounters with Plies. Poor guy.
