Batista had me tuned into every Smackdown back then :wow:. He was the man until he got injured.

HBK, I was like 7 years old and never seen nobody talk shyt and just be as swagged out as he was in late 97-early 98 :wow:

Not sure if there's a clip, But there were two moments that solidified it for me:

1. Him acting a damn fool at some 1997 WWF New Years Eve show

&

2.

Grew up in a family that LOVED southern wrestling.

We watched WWF but both of my parents were dismissive of it for the most part. They were always like that WWF stuff is not really real, but WCCW/NWA/WCW

that shyt was all real.

They hated anyone that went against Dusty Rhodes (the horsemen, Nikita Koloff etc) so I was like fukk em too I just didn’t connect with Dusty as “my guy” as a kid

I was into the Roadwarriors and Lex Luger until this jacked up on caffeine neon’d out surfer with the flat top and duck tail showed up and started going after Ric Flair.

He was the Roadwarrior experience without the “oh shyt, these muthafukkas are scary and a little out there” part.

I was an instant little stinger when he took flair to the draw at the first clash of the champions. You couldn’t tell me shyt after that

Was a Bret Hart fan as a kid but stopped watching wrestling and took a long hiatus until WCW introduced Goldberg.

In 99, switched over to WWF attitude and started watching Rock and Austin where it was a toss up.

My mount Rushmore is them 4.
