Only gangsters I know are all fukking talk . There these two,who are both related to each other, who come down my gym, and they talk about who they are going to beat up, or some drug deal they are planning. Flash money about, and are constantly having loud conversations on their mobile phones .One particular epic one, was one of them threatening to slash his girls throat with a stanley knife if she went to the police becausse he kicked fukk out of her the other day. But then , they both disappeared, both back in prison for breaching their probation conditions. Seems a fukking pointless existance to me. Now I used to know a real gangster, my friends dad and he never done a day in prison, other people I think probably did time for him and he owned a business and use it as a cover for his dodgy dealings. This man was polite as can be never heard him swear once , and I remember hero worshipping him, I got invited to a party round there once and it was basically big fat men and very young women with massive boobs if I remember. All pulled up in cars that the nearest I got to was car magazines at the time. I remember once him driving me home and he was saying to me how much he admired my dad (my dad worked in a bank, what I thought was boring job), and he said 'you should respect your father,he has done well for himself. I got the feeling he was trying to tell me that his life wasn't all that . I never thought that at the time but as I got older I realised what he was basically saying.
One day, his house got raided by some very nasty people, and his wife my friends mother was tied up and tortured until she revealed the safe combo. The police even came round to my house. and it turned out ,my friend brought this on because he would boast to all of us including me about that safe and show us all the money in it. He must have shown it to someone who told people who decided to get it. The police weren't exactly the type who walk the streets, scared the living shyt out of me, decided at that moment a life of crime wasn't for me.

In Montreal it's Vito Rizzuto, probably the most legit Italian mob boss alive in North America, most of his crew got busted in 2005 and while they were in jail most of his surrounding members still out along with father and son got wacked. He went out of Jail in 2012, maybe a year ahead of that opposing figures and gang members which many stipulated as the actual killers in most hits starting getting killed, maybe one casualty every 2 to 3 weeks in a city which averages 35 homicides a year.
By the time he was out many figured that he lost his power and due to the loss of father and son he'd just wanna lead a calm life, but within a couple months every relevant person which was trying to go for his throne and their surroundings were slayed. At that point he called for a cease fire and now has street gangs doing his dirty jobs while he sips on cocktails, drives a Maseratti, plays golf and is constantly on vacation cashing in on corporate and construction money.
A recent article said that he wanted to fund a bridge from Sicily to Italy a couple years ago and had a billion dollars to invest in it, as far as his revenue it's expect to be a solid 125-200K...a day.
All in all, a real don, movies will be made about him. Let's just hope Scorsese out lives him.
