atleast arum pays out.

That Floyd interview someone posted on here, he said Arum still owes him money from 2 previous fights. Millions.

That said...

Don King shaved money for everybody, including Tyson

i wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt have some bodies under his belt. You cant screw ppl over in the ways he did and not have gotten some push back.

Only reason he's not hated more is b/c of his personality on TV and his unique look. But that was all planned on his part 'm sure

41st was the worsest turf on the earth...
don was the evil genius :laff:

he left alot of boxers broke and miserable after boxing. he's always had the organizations like wba, wbc (jose suliman) around his fingers.

Interview from KEvin Rooney about the Holmes-Tyson purse
So they let Larry Holmes in there and Larry shouldn't have fought Tyson because Tyson was too strong and too fast for Larry and it was tragic. Here is the thing that I've never talked about to anybody. I was told by management that Larry Holmes was getting $3.2 million and Mike was getting $3.1 million. An important person to me in the group said that was the most money Larry Holmes had ever made. I said, "What are you talking about? When he fought Gerry c00ney, he got $10 million. They both got $10 million." The person looked at me and said, "Kevin, this is the most money that Larry Holmes has ever made." So I just shut my mouth. And then I found out later through the grapevine and here and there that it's factual…Don King charged Larry Holmes $8.5 million dollars expenses, management and promotional fees.

The promoter is not supposed to make any money like that. He makes his money off of the PPVs and TV, but whoever was managing Holmes, I believe it was Don's son Karl or Richard, one of them, but they were all flunkies for King. They were making money with King and they were all satisfied. This is the thing, they were advertising that Holmes was getting $10 million so he should have walked away with no less than $6 million and he walked away with about $1.5 million and he probably had to pay trainers after that. He probably was lucky if he walked away with a million dollars, but he never said nothing. That's some stuff from the past and I never put that out there until now.

don king has become irrelevant

don has taken a seat back, i know he workin on a casinos being built in florida.

don has always has his most success with the heavies, seeing how shyt is now he not active like he used. but don still got power in the sport.

one thing i did appreciate about don was that when it came to putting a card on ppv, he made it worth the buck. arum can never consistently put on good cards.

If this is true then King is a big piece of Sh*t. Ripping off people who are literally damaging their bodies in that ring for entertainment. You have to take your cut, but you cant take damn near all of it.

:krs: story on this?

Don King was born in Cleveland, Ohio. After dropping out of Kent State University, he ran an illegal bookmaking operation, and was charged for killing two men in separate incidents 13 years apart. The first was determined to be justifiable homicide after it was found that King shot Hillary Brown in the back and killed him while he was attempting to rob one of King's gambling houses. [1] King was convicted of second degree murder for the second killing in 1966 after he was found guilty of stomping to death an employee, Sam Garrett, who owed him $600. [1] In an ex parte meeting with King's attorney, the judge reduced King's conviction to nonnegligent manslaughter for which King served just under four years in prison. [2] King was later pardoned for the crime in 1983 by Ohio Governor Jim Rhodes, with letters from[3]
