Daniel Day Lewis hands down. I know some people are going to give the nod to Depp based on his being perceived as having more versatility just because Depp has done more comedies but while I can envision DDL playing any of Depp's characters I can't really see Depp doing the same and being as successful.

DDL does less films, and seems to pick them well based off his strengths. Depp however has done some fukking awful films to mix with some great films. Tough choice as they're very different...

DDL is super picky about the rules here accepts. And he fully commits to those roles. That is the reason u don't see him in a bunch of movies.
