The only 3 video game characters that everyone will know is sonic, Pac-Man, and mario, maaaybe donkey kong.
Everything else is a mystery to non-gamers

I’ll throw the original tomb raider Lara Croft in there also, Angelina Jolie made that character pretty well known

Surely we should use longer than a year if we're talking Icon status, no? If you go back to 2004 you'll see that MC's peak (red) is well beyond Kratos, but Kratos has been holding down the lead for a few years now
Would be interesting to see this thread bumped 2-3 years from now after Ragnarok & Infinite have been out for a while

Interesting point, but I did say as of today
Also considering both franchises have games coming out in a few months
if you really believed that you wouldn't have been so thirsty to make the Halo Infinite thread even though you'll likely never play it
