exactly. that roster fukking sucked. if you're going to complain about the years that were wasted, complain about 2004-2007. one of the greatest 3 year stretch in NBA history was surrounded by a tanking roster. the fact that this is barely talked about is mysterious and maddening. that was legit his PRIME PRIME and they did nothing but surround him with some of the worst players to ever step on the court. one thing ill give bron props about is that he flexed his power, right or wrong, he controlled the roster. Kobe was too prideful to do that shyt which in retrospect, he fukked up.

He was like 25 with 3 rings. He didn't need to do what Bron did.

His first year he was just happy to have Shaq out the way then he got hurt
His second year was that legendary 81 point year and he was just trying to put the league back on notice
Only in the 3rd year did he finally get tired of playing with bums and losing to the Suns

When you look back you think about what he coulda did with winning players at his peak but he was wasn't really thinking about that.

Bron on the other hand didn't win until he was 9 years deep at 27. Spent his whole career mired in front office ineptitude. He wasn't going back to that once he won. Which is why he stayed with his foot on management's neck.
