I am going to be honest with you guys...I am an old head...41 to be exact. I was right at the end of the 8-track era. I purchased numerous rap cassettes, records, and cds. my physical collection is huge. I was a DJ and worked in a record store for a number of years. After I would say maybe 98 or so....I stopped buying music for the most part. Its something about it that makes me feel like these artists arent seeing any of that money...particularly when it is a major release. I was in the music industry once as well and I seen how these artists on majors are REALLY living. I just dont feel comfortable buying stuff when there is the retailer, the distributor, the label, etc... involved. When I purchase something I want the artist to get my dollar. That being said....I support Duck Down...they are indy and they have a lot of good deals brokered throughout the industry as far as marketing like 2k and itunes for instance. I feel comfortable supporting indies because I think my purchase really goes toward helping the artist's pockets. Couple that with the fact that Sean P is one of my favorite artists of all time...maybe top 10...and I am definitely going to cop a hard copy.
Sorry for the rant just wanted to say that because I dont know if anyone else here feels that way.
