Said it from the beginning, tryna make fun outta brehs in front of them crackers. It’s the owner of the team or their intern or whoever who designs the rings, shirts and hats. That’s why they all say different shyt, some of them said world champion, most didn’t.
It’s still a dumb smart comparison. World champion is not as prestigious Olympic champion and Olympic is not as prestigious as NBA champion - in basketball. Like, schrodinger is not bigger than Dirk now.
Just like Olympics isn’t shyt in soccer. But in soccer they also have club World Cup, which isn’t close to winning your national league or champions league. But also a national team one, which is the most prestigious. All sports have their own shyt. Or hockey, World Cup is not they play that shyt yearly and nhl players might link up mid tournament if they don’t have some golfing with the breh dem.
Other than that, I agree why make nba something it ain’t which is the G-league ass world championship.
This is the issue I take with it. I dont care about his opinion on the matter. He can say whatever. I dont even have to disagree with it. Theres some merit to the statement on surface levels.
But it was very clear to me exactly why he chose NBA instead of MLB and you can see it in his cornball ass face as he was talking. I dont expect anything less from Gen Z. The sugar oozing out that boy anyway.
To go out his way to direct it at essentially a black league instead of the more popular MLB who ACTUALLY call themselves World Champions every year and not just every now and then like teams may do when they make their own banners saying World Champions. Cause the NBA calls them NBA Champions. And almost no one does it and havent done it but a couple times the last couple decades. But again, the MLB officially calls it World Series/Champions....but he want to go up on the world stage to denigrate black men for clout. White clout.
Then he just used a horrible analogy in an interview that undercuts his own logic. He said "If theres a competition and its called Best in the Universe but no one else from the universe knows or CAN compete in it, how can you call yourself the Champion of the Universe? Its the same thing."
Except its NOT the same thing fruit cake ass boy, because everyone in the world CAN and does compete in the NBA. Everyone that plays basketball in the world KNOWS the NBA. Its an international league with the very best international players the World has to offer, and ONLY the very best can play in that league so he attempted to say the NBA isnt an international league then only to say it was but they arent World Champs. Ok, some will have no issue with that statement alone even though he flipflopped but again, understanding why someone would say something is usually much more telling than what it was they actually said. This is one of those cases. We see exactly why he would even say something like that given the other much more historcal and popular league he couldve chose but ignored. Very transparent.

I'm not a Lyles fan but all he did is miscalculate the heat and thought guys were slower than they were
