Because Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee are on even ground, being that they're both actors who are trained in traditional Martial Arts. Actually, if you take real facts into consideration, Jackie is taller and weighs more, on top of likely having a higher pain tolerance as evidenced by him doing all of his own stunts and oftentimes hurting himself in the process. So really, there is a good chance that he would whoop Bruce Lee's ass. Nobody will see it that way, though, because they believe that Bruce Lee was some type of demigod (with no evidence whatsoever, of course.)

Did you even bother to research Bruce Lee's philosophies and training regimen or did you just watch his movies and assume he'd fight like that in real life? Bruce Lee's books talked about Jujitsu submissions. boxing techniques, and various methods to parry attacks that are actually practiced in combat arts today at a time when traditional marital arts had just hit the scene. I read his book Tao of Jeet Kune Do before I even began training in Muay Thai, Boxing, and Grappling and some of the concepts he talked about and drew detailed diagrams on were things I came across in training in some form or another. A higher pain tolerance doesn't mean shyt if you can't land an attack or have any style based on what actually works in combat.

Did you watch the footage of Bruce Lee demonstrating his "punching technique" on a heavy bag? Here, let me help you out:

So now we know for a FACT that he couldn't box worth a shyt. Wrestling? Please, a couple of lessons with Gene LeBell doesn't mean he was some high level Judoka. Sure, he had the right idea, but that doesn't mean he was an MMA fighter - he wasn't. And he didn't invent MMA, either - I'm tired of people saying that. The Gracies invented modern MMA and Bruce Lee didn't have shyt to do with it. Was he a smart, athletic dude that was obsessed with training? Yes. Did he develop a great philosophy when it comes to fighting? Yes. But that's where it stops. Also, please show me some proof, as in - irrefutable evidence, that Bruce Lee was this amazing defense wizard where nobody could land a shot on him like you say. Go ahead, I'll wait.

There you go inventing statements nobody said yet again. Who claimed he invented MMA leagues or that he was an MMA fighter or was a high level Judoka or pure boxer? Where are you pulling these supposed statements from? I said he was utilizing and discussing concepts of MMA such as combining combat styles etc long before MMA was established in the mainstream. Where did this claim that nobody could ever land a shot on Bruce come from because it certainly didn't come from me. Seems to me like you read some shyt from another thread or board about Bruce Lee throwing Hadoukens and flame kicking bullets and bringing it here.

Brehs theres like a 46 pg thread on here arguing Bruce Lee would kill a prime 5'10 220lb Mike Tyson. This shyt is mindblowing.

Like somehow Bruce Lee had the combat skills of a God and nobody has ever trained as hard as he did:what:

Not to mention he has never competed in any professional combat matches in any sport. He just did movies.

what the fukk:mindblown:
Yeah there's the physical side and the mental side. Tyson was used to the pressure of being in fights

Anyone ever consider the fact that everything we've heard about Lee, were first hand accounts given by the biggest names in martial arts, combat sports, and overall athletics of that time? I guess everyone was spitting :duck: for no reason huh. Yall also ever notice how people rarely tried him? :mjpls: You'd think someone with a big enough name and ego attached would test him on a public platform, and you know people had the money to make it happen real quick. Yeah, there are things about Lee that are highly exaggerated, but there are also things that aren't. Yall just seem so determined to disprove everything about Bruce Lee that you'll willfully ignore the witness accounts, interviews and such just to support your argument, if anything YALL shouldn't be taken seriously. :manny:

Uncertain grounds
this is a fairly straight forward question..not sure why all this mma/boxing etc shyt is being brought up rather than the actual proposed hypothetical fight.

perhaps bruce's rep is boosted slightly too much and chan isnt given slightly enough credit but i think lee takes him. jackie could take a bit more punishment and the drunken style is very unpredictable but he'd have to be incredibly on point and he'd pretty much have to use drunken style IMO. bruce was very fast and still had enough strength to put a hurting on jackie
