Actually Navy seal combat discourages hand to hand fighting unless it's a life or death situation even CQC is meant to use the environment as a weapon or disarm/disable a combatant, not really meant for ring sports. Navy Seals are very good fighters, but it's a different skillset than a trained fighter.
Two dudes I used to work out with was a SEAL the other a kickboxer. Kickboxer always wanted a match but SEAL always refused.
He said the hand to hand combat training he got was to put people down by any means. He wouldn't be able to use that in a regular street fight unless he was really willing to hurt people.
