Well, since I'm heading off to the Army Reserves (getting money for school) the thing I'd do with the money is put in a CD and let it grow while in BCT and AIT. After that, I'm going to HBCU (preferably Howard or Morehouse) which are expensive schools. After the money grows, I'll take it out and use it for funds.

Well going off of one of the highest CD rates out right now, which is around 1.20, a 1,000 dollar investment will only get you about 13 dollars in a year. I could pick up more the 13 dollars in pennies off the ground in a year.

That's off 1,000 so a 100 is just pointless

I suggest a online High Yield savings/checking if you only investing anything under 10gs (my opinion)

that way you have access to your money and IF CD rate rise, then you can dump when its worthwhile VS locking down your money at a low rate, with no access for a minimal return.
