At this point they need to push someone who wasn’t a household name under the WWE umbrella. They need to give Hangman Page a run just to show they can give the ball to one of their own and he can carry it. If it fails they have contingency plan options

Darby/Scorpio/Page would be the top picks for that imo.

His underdog booking has been great so far. Not sure how I would feel him losing to Sammy tho. I like Sammy but Sammy seems like him as a very punchable heel who can take Ls whenever until he gets fed up with Jericho and turns face, or at least goes solo. Darby has only been losing to top players so far, so I think a W over Sammy should keep his underdog booking moving nicely.

Darby finally beating Cody (maybe for the title) seems like where they're going with him atm.
