All they had to do was book Brock into the hiac finish.
To move the attention over to Brock versus ryback as the program for mania.
Instead. They did that dumb ass Brad Maddox shyt.

The Devil's Advocate O'Haire might be my answer to this.
Mr. Kennedy was another one I was sure would have a world title to his name in WWE.
Am I the only one that thinks that John Morrison should have been more than he was? Dude should have been a world champion in WWE, his last run with him and Miz squirting people with water sticks is still baffling to me.
His work EVERYWHERE outside of WWE shows that WWE missed the boat with JoMo. When he came back after being Johnny Impact and Johnny Mundo, how could you not try?!
Dude looks like a million bucks, can go in the ring, never hurt (to my knowledge), improved on the Mic, can work with most anybody....it's crazy how it just didn't work in WWE.

I honestly feel like his forced push after the Benoit shyt was a huge negative turning point for WWECW along with a lot of other things….But trying to force him on top instead of just givinv it to Punk when he was white hot was just stupid

I feel like that forced push was need for him so he could switch up his gimmick cause him being "Johnny Nitro" wasn't gonna lead him anywhere.
Yeah, The push honestly is what the brand was meant for. Was basically developmental at that point, Just think they should have went with Punk as originally planned. When he finally did beat dude for it, I remember not caring at all at that point.
They probably would have ran with Punk if they cared for him which they never did. I remember Michael Hayes on Punk’s dvd saying Vince only signed Punk “just cause” but never had plans for him hence why guys like Morrison and Lashley were winning the ECW Title matches instead of letting Punk get his shine.
Punk was set to beat Benoit before he did what he did that day.

Save for the actual tragedy, that whole thing fueled Punk going forward. Even in his Summer of Punk promos and dvd, he mentioned how it made him feel.
