The fans with common sense acknowledge it and dweebs who stan has beens and never will be's go out of their way to hate him as a form of denial. So he gets credit from those with credibility and dominates the thoughts of the hacks. The wait for his return to the ring is the highlight right now.

Bryan/Punk as your A1 title feud, arrange the ME around that accordingly. There's your current hottest face going up against a top 3 heel in WWE hierarchy. Bryan can keep his current heat by just doing what he's doing now, being awesome in the ring (a given) and winning more than he loses. Punk can strike up a feud with anyone on the roster and we will at least get a good promo/good match out of it.
